This is an oil drain coupling fitting that replaces the original oil pan drain plug. This allows a quicker, cleaner and safer method of draining oil. It has an O-Ring sealed spring loaded valve that is opened as a drain tool/hose is attached and closes as it is removed to allow for gravity style oil change. It has a brass O-Ring sealed cap to cover quick drain fitting when drain hose is not attached.
